Roero region

The Roero is that part of the territory that lies north of Alba, on the left bank of the river Tanaro, between the plain of Carmagnola and the low hills of the Asti area.

As in many other areas of Piedmont, winegrowing in Roero has a thousand-year history: in fact, winegrowing production develops before the arrival of the Romans, since the presence of the Ligurians, probably thanks to the influence of the Etruscans, and extends manifests itself with increasing intensity to this day.

However, compared to other neighboring wine-growing areas, Roero is characterized by a remarkable variety of landscapes that see, in addition to the vines, the presence of forests and orchards.
